Covered from the front yard through, that’s right, directly through the house to the backyard you’ll find seeds, vegetables, herbs, and the lifeforms it takes for their growth. Holiday Weight Blues? Never again!

Can’t seem to help but have another helping?

Family tradition to cook with bags of butter and tubs of salt?

Does grandma top the pie with ice cream, the ice cream with whipped cream, and the whipped cream with candy?

Either way, the holidays are our time to gather as a family and GET FAT!!

Did you know that the average American gains roughly 5 pounds over the Holiday!?

So how the hell do I avoid this!?

By simply adding a supplement called CLA (conjugated linoleic acid)

What the fuck is that?

It’s a fatty acid that is commonly found in meat and dairy (don’t get excited meat eaters, you can’t intake enough for the benefits to work) as well as safflower oil. (yay for vegans!!)

So I’m eating fat to burn fat? How does that work?

It will be increasing the basal metabolic rate. Basically it’s going to help your body convert fat into energy, thus, maintaining your weight.

How much do I take?

3,400mg a day.

Where do I buy this?

CLA is getting pretty popular now, so watch out for bandwagon brands. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS check out ingredients and other ingredients. Often companies throw in filler fats in “blends” of their own so the front of the bottle will read “100omg per serving” when really you may be getting an ineffective amount of the actual CLA. Tonalin has patented a mix that is 750mg per serving. They sell their own line as well as being used by The Vitamin Shoppe. 

Take the CLA with your three main courses: Two with your two higher fat meals and One with your lower fat meal.

Example: I personally eat a higher fat breakfast and dinner, so I take two CLAs with each of those and then my lunch is lighter in fat so I only take one.

So, push those blues aside, and enjoy your Holiday feasts!!! 

Remember: Portioning is Possible and Sit ups still love you!!

Banana Coconut Muffins

How about this quick lunchie munchie!!

What do you need?

1 Banana

1 tbsp Honey

1 cup dry oats

6 tbsp coconut flakes

12 pitted dates

a splash of water

muffin pan for 6

Blend everything together, disperse evenly in muffin cups.

Bake on 350 for 17 minutes.

Let them cool.

THEN NOM NOM NOM!!!

Each muffin includes:

142 calories

29 carbs

3 fats

3 proteins

Going bananas: Guilt Free Ice cream

And to think, they said you couldn’t eat ice cream and stay fit! BULLSHIT!

So what’s the secret to seducing your taste buds with that smooth creamy cold dreamy? Easy! Freeze two bananas, let them sit out enough to soften up, grab about 10 or so almonds, add a 1/4 a scoop of your favourite protein powder, blend until a smooth consistency and viola! You’ve got yourself three servings of ice cream at 98 calories, 19 carbs, and 3 grams of healthy fat!!!!

OR

Eat the entire thing because it’s just a piggy moment and you deserve it….but OH WAIT, that’s still only 295 calories, 57 carbs, and a low as hell 9 grams of healthy fats!!!

Remember, get creative, add your favourites: cinnamon, chocolate, coconut flakes, strawberries….etc.

Easy Enough Bites

You’re taste buds have been warned: ONE TURNS INTO THREE WITH THESE!

These are easy enough to make. Pretty common favs to all pallets.

2 cups of oats, 3 or 4 servings of coconut peanut butter (or any peanut butter for that matter), 1 serving of vegan chocolate chips, add 1 scoop of chocolate plant based protein powder, 2 tbsp of honey.

Just mix everything together in a bowl, roll into bite size, stick in the freezer for about 2 hours, and SHAZAM!!! You have this delicious treat that lures the lurking.

A snack that actually YIELDS beneficial ingredients. ie. Protein, omegas, magnesium, and iron

Between Meal Munchies

In between meals and finding yourself with a bit of the munchies?

SNACK!!!!

Cut up a few strawberries, add a half cup of grapefruit, throw it on top a handful of spinach, and sprinkle chia seeds on top.

You’ve got yourself a cupid’d combo of omegas, antioxidants, magnesium, protein, and much more.

Best of all, it’s RAW!!!
